DeSales senior linebacker Max Shulaw was named First Team All-Ohio by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association earlier today (12/6) This season, Max led the Co-CCL champions with 102 tackles and was tied for 16 tackles for a loss. For his career, Max registered 349 tackles, 53.5 for a loss and made 37 starts. Unofficially, Shulaw’s 349 stops were second all-time in a career behind John Callaghan’s 400 tackles from 1988-1990.
Shulaw, a state championship wrestler, is the first SFD athlete to earn First Team All-Ohio honors in two sports since Joey Velaquez (football, baseball) in 2018-2019!
