Seven former SFD Football alums are participating in College Football Bowl Games, starting this Saturday (12/16) with Quintell Quinn ‘21 and Ohio University in the Myrtle Beach Bowl. Five other Stallions and their teams also took part in postseason play in Division-II, Division-III, and in the junior college ranks.

Myrtle Beach Bowl, December 16, 11 AM Ohio vs. Georgia Southern
Season notes: The 6-1, 217 pound redshirt sophomore running back has appeared in six games for the Bobcats. Quinn has 22 yards on five carries. For his career, he’s played in 16 games at Ohio.
Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, December 23, 3:30 PM James Madison vs. Air Force
SFD Alumni: James Madison University - Cole Potts ‘20
Season notes: The former Stallion has started all 12 games at right guard for JMU. The 6-foot-3 306 pound junior has played in 43 career games and has started 36 games for the Dukes.
Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, December 29, 8PM Ohio State vs. Missouri
SFD Alumnus: Ohio State University - Joey Lyberger ‘12, Quality Control - Defense
Season notes: Coach Lyberger enters his third season as a member of the Buckeye’s coaching staff. He is a program assistant on the defensive side of the ball, working with linebackers.
ReliaQuest Bowl, January 1, 11:00 AM Wisconsin vs. LSU
SFD Alumni: University of Wisconsin - Rodas Johnson ‘19, Defensive Lineman; Paul Haynes ‘87, Cornerbacks Coach; Luke Fickell ‘92, Head Coach
Season notes: The redshirt senior defensive lineman recorded 19 tackles with 3 for a loss and started every game for the Badgers. For his career, Rodas has started 20 times and registered 50 tackles with 10 for a loss.
Season notes: Coach Haynes is in his first season with the Badgers and his 31st overall in coaching. Wisconsin is ranked 26th in the nation in passing defense, allowing 193.4 yards per game.
Season notes: In his first season at Wisconsin, Fickell led the Badgers to a 7-5 season. Fickell was named the University of Wisconsin football's 31st head coach on Nov. 27, 2022 after spending six years at the University of Cincinnati, where a compiled a 57-18 record. In 2021, he guided the Bearcats to an appearance in the College Football Playoff Semifinals at the Cotton Bowl and the first-ever 13-0 regular-season record in Bearcat history.

SFD Alumnus: University of Michigan - Joey Velazquez ‘19, Linebacker
Season notes: Velazquez is a three-time letterman for the Wolverine Football team and has earned four letters for UM Baseball. For his career, he has played in 19 football games and 100 baseball games with 68 starts.

Grand Valley State University SFD Alumnus: Jordan Johnson ‘21, Wide Receiver
Postseason Results: GVSU 21, Ferris State 14 (First Round); GVSU 24, Pittsburg State 21; Harding 7, GVSU 6, (Quarterfinal)
Season Notes: Johnson, a sophomore receiver, made 16 receptions for 286 yards with 2 touchdowns for the second ranked Lakers, who finished 11-2. For his career, the 6-foot, 185 former Stallion has appeared in 22 games.
Tiffin University SFD Alumni: JJ Baughman ‘21, Special Teams; Ben Famosa ‘23, Tight End
Postseason Result: Slippery Rock 45, Tiffin 35 (Second Round)
Season Notes: Baughman, a junior, appeared in 10 games for the Dragons and served as the primary kickoff specialist. The former Stallion also punted 3 times and made 1 extra point for Tiffin, who finished 11-1.
Postseason Result: Alma 24, Mount Union 20 (Second Round)
Season Notes: Tawiah, a senior, made his first career extra point against Muskingum on 9/23. For his career, he appeared in four games for the Purple Raiders, who finished the season at 11-1.

Riverside Community College SFD Alumnus: Nathaniel Wallace-Dilling '22, punter
Postseason Results: RCC 51, Mt. San Antonio 48 (Southern California Regional Playoffs); RCC 45, Ventura 26 (SCFA Championship); RCC 24, San Mateo 21 (3C2A State Championship)
Season Notes: Wallace-Dilling, a freshman, earned First Team All-National Division, Southern League honors after averaging 39.9 yards per punt with 14 inside the 20 for the 12-1 Tigers.
