DeSales 55, Sheridan 13, final

The Stallions scored 35 points in the second quarter en route to a 55-13 victory over Thornville Sheridan in a Division-III Regional Quarterfinal playoff game in Alumni Stadium.  Alonzo Booth rushed for 164 yards and scored four touchdowns as the senior set the career-rushing mark, passing Dino Razzano (2,760), and the single season record for most touchdowns, passing Warren Ball (29).  

Booth was one of five Stallions to score against the Generals, who were making their 18th playoff appearance.  Cole Silvestri rushed for a touchdown and connected with Ryan Corkrean for 53 yards for a passing touchdown.  Brian Asamoah and Ryan Peaks each had 5-yard runs for scores as the Stallions piled up 292 rushing yards, 238 of them in the first half. 

Ryan Corkean and Jared Noble had interceptions for a Stallion defense that held Sheridan to 127 yards.  

DeSales won their 52nd playoff game, which moved them into 8th place all-time in OHSAA history and improved to 12-1 in playoff games in Alumni Stadium.  

Next Saturday, the Stallions will play Beechcroft at 7PM, location TBA.  The two teams have met 22 times with DeSales leading the series 17-5.
