DeSales 56, Mt. Vernon 14, final.

For the 9th time in school history the Stallions (10-0) finished the regular season undefeated after a 56-14 win at Mt. Vernon.  On his first carry of the night, Alonzo Booth raced 50 yards for the touchdown, breaking Matt Stewart's single season rushing record.  Booth finished with 3 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns.  The senior running back also tied Warren Ball's single season scoring mark of 29 touchdowns.

The 2016 team set a program record for most points scored in a regular season (432 points) and now only trails the 1998 team (450) for most points scored overall, including playoffs.

Cole Silvestri ran for a touchdown and passed for two more as the Stallions totaled 313 first half yards.  Jared Noble (38) and Joe Arnold (30) each had receiving touchdowns.

Defensively, the Purple and White intercepted three passes, including one by Joey Velazquez that was returned 71 yards for a touchdown.  It was the second interception returned for a score by the sophomore defensive back in as many weeks.   The Stallions also received a defensive touchdown when AJ Sallee forced a fumble that went right into arms of Colton Hilleary who took it 65 yards for his first score on the varsity level.

Overall, it is the 16th time that DeSales has won at least 10 games.  DeSales will host a Regional Quarterfinal game on Saturday, November 5 at 7PM.
