Where Are They Now? - Bill Kearns '65

Week 5
Bill
KEARNS

1962-1965

The fourth edition of "Where Are They Now" for the 2023 season, presented by Ben Aucoin, State Farm Agent, is Bill Kearns ‘65.

Bill was a member of two Central Catholic League Championship Teams for DeSales in 1964, including Football his senior year, when the Stallions captured the program’s first-ever CCL title after tying Watterson 8-8. In Track, Bill held both the school and CCL record for shot put and discus and was a part of the school’s first league title in the spring of ‘64.

After graduating from DeSales, Bill walked onto the Ohio State Football Team, but Track ended up being his sport. He earned two letters in Track in 1968 and 1969.

These days, Bill is a semi-retired engineer, who spends most of his time, when he’s not working, with his wife Marilyn of 52 years.

Here, Bill shares some great stories from the early days of DeSales, including one where he volunteered to help set up the gymnasium’s bleachers for Coach Sharrock.

A special thanks to State Farm Agent and SFD Assistant Coach Ben Aucoin for sponsoring this series once again!
