Junior running back Quintell Quinn rushed for a career-high 246 yards and two touchdowns as the Stallions won their sixth straight to improve to 7-1, 2-0 in Central Catholic League play. Quinn became the 27th Stallion to reach the 1,000 yard plateau.
DeSales improved to 44-4 all-time against St. Charles, despite turning the ball over four times.
The Stallions built a 14-0 first quarter lead after Owen Faulkner’s 19-yard rushing touchdown, but the Cardinals tied the game at 14-14 in the fourth.
Quinn took over late in the second half, rushing for 200 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown.
Reno Godfrey’s nine-yard touchdown run with 2:21 remaining put the game out of reach.

DeSales 28, Belmont 7
Quintell Quinn and Jaylen Ball each rushed for over 100 yards in a 28-7 win over Belmont at Welcome Stadium on Friday. Quinn led the Stallions with 155 yards and Ball had a career-high 107 yards, along with two touchdowns.
Reno Godfrey tied the game at 7-7 on a one-yard touchdown run after Belmont scored on the game’s first play from scrimmage. The Stallions outscored the Bison 21-0 after halftime.

Warren is a former All-Ohio running back for DeSales and won a National Championship at Ohio State University before concluding his playing career at the University of Akron, where he earned Academic All-MAC honors and served as Team Captain. DeSales scored the final 14 points of the game after trailing by ten in the third quarter and rallied to beat Watterson 20-16. The Stallions out-rushed the Eagles 267-52 and were led by Quintell Quinn’s career-high 161 yards. Jaylen Ball scored the go-ahead touchdown and finished with 76 yards rushing. Ball also recorded a career-high 9 tackles on a defense that intercepted three Watterson passes and all of them occurred in the second half.
Jordan Johnson caught an 18-yard pass from Reno Godfrey for a score and also had an interception.
Ryan Wiggins improved to 12-4 all-time against Watterson.
DeSales 42, Bishop Fenwick 22
A 28-point first quarter fueled at 42-22 win for DeSales in their first-ever meeting with Bishop Fenwick. Senior quarterback Reno Godfrey threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another as the Stallion improved to 4-1 overall.
The Stallion Defense forced four turnovers, including a 22-yard fumble recovery returned for a score by Jaylen Ball. Mason Washington set up the game’s first score with his second interception of the season. Sophomore linebacker Jonathan Thompson forced a fumble and recorded his first career interception for DeSales, who held the Falcons to 49 yards in the first half. Corey Moriarty also had his first pick as a Stallion.
Jordan Johnson (49), Owen Faulkner (8) and Kole Perrine (65) each had receiving touchdowns. Perrine scored for third time from 60 yards out or more.

The 5th edition of the "Where Are They Now?" series in 2019 is Justin Moore‘06!
A three-year letter-winner for the Stallions, who led the team in receiving as a junior and a senior. The 2011 First Team All-District player went onto to play at Kent State University, where he appeared in 33 career games for the Golden Flashes.

DeSales 35, Archbishop Alter 31

In the first meeting since 2005, DeSales out-slugged Kettering Alter 35-31 in a lightning delayed week four matchup between two programs who have combined for 49 playoff appearances, 98 playoff victories, and 22 Regional Championships.
Quintell Quinn had a career-high 147 yards rushing and two touchdowns, including a 90-yard kickoff return for a score.
Alter (3-1), the 2018 Division-III State Runner-up, took a 31-28 lead with 3:33 remaining in the game, thanks to a 42-yard field goal. Senior running back Jaylen Ball scored the go-ahead touchdown, his second of the game, with 54 seconds remaining, as the Stallions improved to 3-1 overall.
Reno Godfrey, who connected with Jordan Johnson and Owen Faulkner on the game-winning drive, scored his first rushing touchdown of the season early in the first quarter.
With the win, the Stallions improved to 11-2 all-time against Kettering Alter.

A two-way player on the 2005 Division-III State Runner-up team, Moore went onto play collegiately at the Air Force Academy, where he appeared in 27 games for the Falcons. As a senior for the Falcons, he finished second on the team in tackles for the Armed Forces Bowl Champions

The 3rd edition of the "Where Are They Now?" series in 2019 is Brady Mangini ‘95!
A two-sport standout for the Stallions, who's set to be inducted into the SFD Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend. Mangini led the Stallion Football team for three straight seasons in all-purpose yards, totaling 2,537 rushing yards. He was also the Baseball program's first ever two-time First Team All-Ohio player.

Ben Rothrauff '04 - "Where Are They Now?"

The 2nd edition of the "Where Are They Now?" series in 2019 is Ben Rothrauff ‘04!
A three-time Academic All-Big selection at Northwestern, where he walked on and later earned a scholarship, Rothrauff ended up appearing in 40 career games for the Wildcats.

In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Stallions outlasted Dayton Carroll 35-28 in the season opener. Reno Godfrey threw for a career-high on 307 yards with two touchdowns, both to Kole Perrine (65, 62). Quintell Quinn crossed the goal line three times for the Stallions and also forced a fumble. Jordan Johnson intercepted two passes, as part of five turnover forced by the Purple and White.

Travis was the 2009 Division-III Ohio Co-Defensive Player of the year Stallions and went onto to play at Michigan State University, where he started 30 contests and was a part of four Spartan Bowl victories (Outback, Buffalo Wild Wings, Rose, Cotton).

Luke Fickell '92 named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year
Former Stallion Football player Luke Fickell ‘92 was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the University of Cincinnati to a 10-2 regular season. It was only the seventh 10-win season for the Bearcats since 1885.
Senior linebacker Joey Velazquez named First Team All-Ohio
For the second season in a row a Stallion linebacker was recognized as First Team All-Ohio by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. The 6-1, 210 pounder, who led the Stallions with 21 tackles for loss, joins Ty Van Fossen (University of Cincinnati) as an All-Ohio linebacker. Velazquez, a two-time First Team All-Ohio Baseball player and University of Michigan commit, was previously named the Central District Defensive Player of the Year.
