In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Stallions outlasted Dayton Carroll 35-28 in the season opener. Reno Godfrey threw for a career-high on 307 yards with two touchdowns, both to Kole Perrine (65, 62). Quintell Quinn crossed the goal line three times for the Stallions and also forced a fumble. Jordan Johnson intercepted two passes, as part of five turnover forced by the Purple and White.
