A pair of long touchdown runs lifted DeSales to a 14-0 road win over Newark Catholic. Mike Metzger opened the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown on the third play of the game after the Stallions recovered a fumble on the hosts’ 30-yard line. Metzger carried the ball on all three plays of the quick scoring drive. Ken Schneider added the two-point conversion to make it 8-0 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, Ken Evans added to the tally, with a 19-yard scoring dash, keeping DeSales undefeated at 5-0.
