DIVISION-III Region 11 Quarterfinal
DeSales (5-1) vs. Granville (4-2)

Result: DeSales 56, Granville 23
The Stallions erupted for a 36 point third quarter en route to a 56-35 Regional Quarterfinal win over Granville, in a game that was resumed a day after it started. Granville had a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter when the game was delayed and eventually postponed until the follow day.
On the first play on Saturday, Quintell Quinn raced 42 yards for a touchdown -part of a 181 yard and four touchdown performance for the future Ohio Bobcat.
The Stallions took a 20-15 lead into halftime and on the opening possession of the second half, Granville returned the kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. On the ensuing kick, Granville recovered it and on the next play from scrimmage, Matthew Stewart picked up a Thompson forced fumble and returned it 55 yards for a score. Jonathan Thompson would record his second interception of the game and took it in for another defensive touchdown on Granville’s next possession.
Nathan Barber caught a 30-yard pass from Whit Hobgood for his first career touchdown. Thompson also had a rushing touchdown for the Stallions, who improved to 16-2 all-time in Regional Quarterfinals.
Divsion-III, Region 11 Semifinal
DeSales (6-1) vs. Jonathan Alder (8-0)

Result: DeSales 31, Jonathan Alder 6
In the first meeting with the Pioneers since 1964, the Stallions rushed for 355 yards and advanced to the Region 11 Championship. Quintell Quinn had 179 yards and three touchdowns, Jonathan Thompson tallied 126 yards with a score as the Purple and White improved to 7-1 on the season.

DeSales (7-1) vs. Bishop Hartley (6-3)

Result: DeSales 38, Bishop Hartley 7
The Stallions captured the program’s 12th Regional Championship and fourth under Head Coach Ryan Wiggins. Quintell Quinn led DeSales with four touchdowns as the Purple White out-gained the Hawks in total yards 413-162. The Stallions jumped out to a 17-0 lead on a 31-yard pass from Whit Hobgood to Jordan Jordan Johnson. Quinn’s second rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter made it a running block and DeSales would defeat Hartley for the third time of the season.

DeSales (8-1) vs. Kettering Alter (8-2)

Result: DeSales 23, Kettering Alter 13
The Stallions advanced to their ninth State Championship game appearance after a 23-13 win over Kettering Alter. Quintell Quinn rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns and broke Alonzo Booth’s career rushing mark of 3,352 yards on a game-clinching run in the waning moments of the fourth quarter. DeSales took a 9-7 lead into the locker room after a 41-yard field goal by JJ Baughman. Quinn’s fourth touchdown gave the Stallions a 23-7 lead to put the game out of reach. The Stallions improved to 13-2 all-time against Kettering Alter.

DeSales (9-1) vs. Chardon (11-0)
Date: November 20, 2020
Location: Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, Massillon
Result: Chardon 31, DeSales 28 (2OT)
Chardon rallied in the second half to force overtime and eventually won their second state title. The Stallions were led by Quintell Quinn’s 216 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Junior Quarterback Whit Hobgood threw for a career-high 180 yards. Freshman linebacker Max Shulaw recorded a career-high 17 tackles, while Jonathan Thompson made 5.5 tackles for a loss.

8/28/2020 - DeSales 28, Watterson 22 OT
Quintell Quinn had three rushing touchdowns, including a four-yard run in overtime to help lead the Stallions to their seventh win over the Eagles in eight games. After an interception return for an Eagle touchdown, Quinn also blocked an extra point to keep the game within one score at 22-14. The game was delayed due to thunder for 30 minutes and when play resumed, Quinn scored on the very first play to make it 22-20. Nathan Barber tied the game at 22 when he caught a two-point conversion. Jordan Johnson had an 85-yard touchdown reception from Whit Hobgood in the first half, but DeSales trailed 16-7 at the break. After the second half, the Stallion defense held the Eagles to less than 100 yards of offense as Coach Wiggins improved to 13-4 against Watterson.
9/11/2020 - DeSales 24, Bishop Hartley 21
The Stallions piled up 298 rushing yards, led by Jonathan Thompson's two touchdowns and 86 yards in a come-from-behind win against Bishop Hartley. DeSales rallied in the second half for the third straight week, after trailing 21-17, before Jonathan Thompson gave the Stallions the lead for good after a 55-yard touchdown run. Thompson also recorded an interception and had two tackles for a loss. Quintell Quinn rushed for over 100 yards. Jordan Johnson had a 32-yard touchdown to tie the game at 7-7. JJ Baughman kicked his first career field goal in the first half.
9/18/2020 - Watterson 35, DeSales 34 2OT
9/25/2020 - DeSales 38, St. Charles 7
The Stallions had a season high 382 yards rushing, led by Quintell Quinn's 106 yards and four touchdowns. Jonathan Thompson had 94 yards and a score. The Cardinals scored on the game’s first play, on an interception returned for score, but DeSales scored the next 48. The Stallions out-gained the Cardinals 415-107.
10/2/2020 - DeSales 16, Bishop Hartley 14
DeSales captured the 2020 Central Catholic Championship and piled up 291 rushing yards, compared to 141 yards for Bishop Hartley. It’s the lowest rushing total for the Hawks against DeSales, since the two teams renewed the series, beginning with a non-league game in 2014. Quintell Quinn led the way with 131 rushing yards, while Jonathan Thompson ran for a career-high 118 yards as DeSales beat the Hawks for the second time this season and won their 25th league title all time. JJ Baughman made three field goals, including a career-high 44 yarder. Quinn crossed the goal line for the 10th time in 2020.
